After 13 seasons we have taken the difficult decision to stop operating Chalet Rassel. A combination of factors are making the business very difficult to operate but principally the rules on hiring staff from the UK are changing and our wages are set to at least double. We have considered scaling back or changing our operation but we are proud of what we have created and the level of service that we offer and to provide less would go against our ethos. Instead we intend to focus on operating chalets in Val D’Isere and Tignes with the same high standards.
This past 13 years has been filled with fun both on and off the slopes and we have met some incredible people, had some amazing skiing and developed friendships with both customers and staff alike. We have learnt so much that we intend to take forward to continue delivering great holidays to our clients from around the world but in new and different environments.
For this last season at Rassel we would love to see as many of our clients as possible to celebrate what has been a wonderful journey. Ben Gage, our very popular and talented chef from the past two seasons, will be returning and everything will be beautifully organised by Beth as always. Thanks to everyone that has supported us over the years and seen the company and our family grow. This is not the end just the beginning of a new era…
In case you are interested we are initially offering the chalet for sale as a whole. If we do not achieve this we will be creating five apartments to sell so that the spirit of Rassel can live on!
